  • the started recording in 2015, we are unaware when they finish it.
  • The original cover should be in first place
  • One of them needs alt
  • Artwork in Poland and Russia (until 22 April 2016 when the single was released worldwide and the cover was replaced with the cover used for the worldwide release) → remove
  • Worldwide release artwork → Commercial cover art, which replaces the original since the 2016 re-release in various countries
  • Generally, later releases or in secondary markets, reissues, on compilations, etc., should only be included in the body of the article. (see formats)
Removed 7" vinyl. Or do you mean 'Add the Blonde' reissue?
Like you did. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 15:26, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Lead edit

  • recorded → remove
  • the reissue of her debut studio album, Add the Blonde (2014), released in 2016. → not true, should be "It was included in the reissue of her debut studio album, Add the Blonde (2014), released in 2016.
  • all except for Deb also produced the track. → all but Deb, produced the track.
  • The single had its radio premiere in Poland on 17 February 2016, and was made available for digital consumption by Extensive Music and Magic Records a day later (?17→19) only in Poland. → The track was first released on streaming service Tidal and added to contemporary hit radio playlists in Poland by Extensive Music and Magic Records. (the source still doesn't cite any labels). Two days later, it was released for digital download in the same country by the aformentioned labels. (first paragraph)
I do have a problem with finding a citation for the labels tho. On Polish Tidal its release date for some reason changed to 22/04 after worldwide release, and also the link to Polish Tidal store doesn't work outside of Poland. It does however state Extensive Music and Magic Records same as it does on iTunes and other stores so I'm not sure what to do. The only source as to what label released the song to radios in Poland that I managed to find was actually the airplay chart.
You can archive the link of Tidal and it will always work. I guess the airplay chart covers the airplay release, but not the streaming. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:12, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Here's the original link that Polish Tidal posted on their Fb page on the day of its release 17/02/16. It was archived few days later, and as you can see it doesn't work. ArturSik (talk) 18:34, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • The song received critical praise for its lyrics and modern sound. → The song received positive reviews from music critics for its lyrics and modern sound.
  • As of January 2020, it is the most-streamed song by a Polish artist on Spotify. → remove
  • Add live performances, awards, certification, music video (who directed and summary regarding its synopys) (just examples the most notable)

Background and composition edit

  • In November 2015, Margaret, Anderz Wrethov, Arash, and Robert Uhlmann were in a recording studio working on a song together. → remove the word "together" and who are " Anderz Wrethov, Arash, and Robert Uhlmann"like producers? songwriters? both?
  • Eurowizja.org → Eurowizja
I'm not sure that would work in this case as 'Eurowizja' is 'Eurovision' in Polish, which could confuse readers.
Correct. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:21, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • internally to represent Poland in Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in 2015 → internally, in 2015, to represent Poland in Eurovision Song Contest 2016
  • Find other source for the composition songcredits, AllMusic is not reliable when it comes to that.
Youtube is even worst. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:40, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Changed to Tidal.
  • all except for Deb also produced the song → with all, except Deb, producing the track
  • "Hey Mama" → year of release in between brackets
  • Try music notes to find the compistion of the song, vocal range, verses, etc...as the source provided is not reliable

Release and promotion edit

  • Re-name of the section will be "Release"
  • Create a new section called "Krajowe Eliminacje 2016", below the section you have the following paragraph , "On 16 February 2016, TVP..."
  • digital consumption → what do you mean?
  • Move source 12 to the end of the sentence
  • and on 22 April Warner Music Group → and on 22 April, Warner Music Group
  • The song along with its three remixes were included on the reissue → The song and its three remixes were included on the reissue
  • with much criticism going to her voice → with much criticism towards her voice
  • "Cool Me Down" also competed in the 2016 RMF FM and Polsat's Hit of the Summer contest. → There are so many radios, this is irrelevant, seems more like fancruft

Reception and impact edit

  • The song received positive reviews from music critics
  • so fierce and catchy," and added that → so fierce and catchy". He added,
  • from Little Mix also praised the song. → how is this relevant?
  • The song was ranked 40th on Popjustice' → move this before the awards
  • Ellie Chalkley of ESC Insight analysed "Cool Me Down" and its impact on the Eurovision Song Contest a year after its release. She stated that Margaret's "impact on the Eurovision Song Contest is real, tangible, and long lasting" → Ellie Chalkley of ESC Insight analysed "Cool Me Down" and its "real, tangible, and long lasting" impact on the Eurovision Song Contest a year after its release.
  • even without getting to the competition proper, 'Cool Me Down' might turn out to be one of the most influential Eurovision songs in recent years. It exists at a pop-cultural tipping point and the ways in which Margaret's stomper succeeded and failed could affect the sound of the contest for years to come → Use your own words more often

Commercial performance edit

  • In May 2016, it became the most-streamed track by a Polish artist on Spotify with 2,7 million streams, and as of January 2020, maintains its position with 39 million streams → irrelevant
How is this irrelevant? I can agree with Tidal and Sveriges Radio P3 as they're both year-end lists and she didn't even top them. But for Spotify it is an overall result. We do mention that Ed Sheeran's Shape of You is most-streamed in his article. And although we can hardly compare 2 billion with 39 million, for a local artist that is quite an achievement I think.
First Shape of You is not a GA. Secondly, most-streamed song of all-time...quite diferent from having 39 million streams and thirdly the source in unreliable. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 15:36, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • sixth most streamed track on Tidal in Poland in 2016 → irrelevant
  • Outside of Poland, "Cool Me Down" also achieved success in Sweden → bias and a 36 peaks its quite no success
  • Gold → gold
  • The single was Sveriges Radio P3's 21st most-played song of 2016 → irrelevant

Music video edit

  • Music video → Music videos
  • Not sure regarding the use of the image of the reservoir. Can't see how further explains the music video or add to it
  • lyric video for "Cool Me Down" was released on 18 February 2016. The anime video was created by Bogna Kowalczyk → so these are two diferent? because lyric video and anime video are two different things. The source says its only the first
  • and was viewed → which one?
  • The song's official music video, directed by Olga Czyżykiewicz, followed on 17 May. → On 17 May 2016, the song's official music video, directed by Olga Czyżykiewicz, was released.

Other versions edit

It is. And Music Trace provides Official German Airplay Charts since 2015.

Release history edit

  • Radio is not a format you need to be way more specific the radios the article mention are they playing mainstream music, rhytmic, alternative?
  • Moreover, regarding the first source it says the song will have its official premiere on other streaming platforms on February 19, that first was a Tidal exclusive...so it would be good to add here. On top of that, the source has no labels, not sure how you dig that one up?
Partly done, as explained before can't find source for the labels for tidal exclusive release.
  • The original source is dead (url-status=dead)
  • It was only released in Poland? Because streaming services are available in various countries
Wasn't released and made available for streaming and download anywhere else until 22 April (except for Russia in March).
  • On the 22 April 2016 date doesn't mention the Extensive Music label, onyl Warner
Removed Extensive.
  • Worldwide → Various

References edit

  • Eurowizja.org → Eurowizja (publisher)
Explained above
  • Popruntheworld → unreliable, no editorial oversight, remove all those sources
The blog is written by Mateusz Rac (I should've included his name) who works for Polish Sony/ATV division as their analyst, and his work was cited many times by reputable periodicals such as Wprost ([1]) and Przekrój ([2]) as well as ZPAV ([3]). He also partnered with major Polish music website All About Music and they published his analysis of "Cool Me Down" here. I wouldn't dismiss it as unreliable.
  • Popheart.pl → Popheart
  • ESCXTRA.com → Escxtra
  • iTunes is publisher
  • What-Song → unreliable source

Overall edit

  • Source for the covers is not reliable, still need to fill out the license regarding the image commercial purposes
  • Don't address anything until I say so. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 14:02, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • Hi, thanks. Sorry, I made some changes, I hope it's not a problem, I wanted you to see them before you finish your review. I will address the rest of your comments once you're done. ArturSik (talk) 03:55, 19 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Wel, I saw some and the labels are still missing in the reference I said. You can now address the issues. You have one week. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:42, 19 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
MarioSoulTruthFan thanks. I addressed most of your comments, just need to fix the covers' sources and license. Hope to hear back from you soon. Best. ArturSik (talk) 21:05, 19 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@ArturSik: No credits and personnel sectiom?
@MarioSoulTruthFan: Right, I'll address everything here as there's not much left. I removed Spotify. I added credits section. You did not address my comment under 'Popruntheworld' so not sure what to do with that. Now that I removed Spotify statistics, there's only one 'Popruntheworld' citation left, for the song's analysis. His analysis was published on All About Music (with editorial oversight) so I could use that instead. But there's not a single source to cite label for the Tidal exclusive release. Surely you can assume good faith. Extensive/Magic released it on all other platforms, and Tidal as well. But 1) the release date on Tidal changed to 22/04, 2) the link doesn't work outside Poland. I was able to access it by using VPN but couldn't archive it. ArturSik (talk) 18:08, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
You changed it to All About Music, so its fine. Oh well, yes I can assume good faith, plus it was released by the same labels on other platforms. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:29, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@ArturSik: I made changes to the article, please let me know if you are ok with those. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:55, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@MarioSoulTruthFan: yes. all looks good. thanks. ArturSik (talk) 18:57, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@ArturSik: I had to do a couple more, let me know. I merge a diferent paragraph so it would be the same line of thought. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 19:19, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@MarioSoulTruthFan: BIG Thanks for the review! ArturSik (talk) 19:43, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
