Used in Hawaii Five-O edit

In the season 4 episode of Hawaii Five-O called "Cloth of Gold," a man used this animal to kill the 3 men who had murdered his daughter. It took the police quite a bit of work to determine their cause of death. At the end, the man used the animal to commit suicide. It's a very good episode. Not safe to handle edit

The living animal of Conus textile can extend its proboscis well beyond the spire of its own shell. Handling a living animal like this is tantamont to playing with a loaded gun. These things are not as shy as some other venomous cones and will readily extend their proboscis in search of someone/thing to 'harpoon.' "teen nearly died in 2021" is misleading edit

This sentence is misleading and should probably be removed, or at least edited: "In 2021, a teen nearly died after picking up a live textile cone"

If you read the cited article, the teen in question was not stung/envenomated. He simply picked one up and remarked on his TikTok that it was a reckless thing to do. 64.121.214.166 (talk) 02:16, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
