Media guides & prize money edit

The 2017 media guide was released as a .zip file, where under D. RECORDS directory you can find older media guides. It has information on purse, etc. 2018, 2019 and 2020 are available separately. Here's a summary.

Year Purse (CAD$) Winners (CAD$) Losers (CAD$) Skins Bonus (CAD$)
2002 200,000 125,000 75,000 0
2003 200,000 125,000 75,000 0
2004 200,000 112,500 62,500 20,000
2006 120,000 75,000 45,000 0
2007 88,400 52,000 36,400 0
2008 88,400 52,000 36,400 0
2011 91,000 52,000 26,000 13,000
2012 91,000 52,000 26,000 13,000
2013 91,000 52,000 26,000 13,000
2014 91,000 52,000 26,000 13,000
2015 91,000 52,000 26,000 13,000
2016 91,000 52,000 26,000 13,000
2017 91,000 52,000 26,000 13,000
2018 91,000 52,000 26,000 13,000
2019 130,000 85,000 45,000 0
2020 202,500 135,000 67,500 0

On some of these, it's not explicit that they're talking about CAD$, but it's probably a safe assumption. Also, instead of the lump team prize sum, sometimes they use the 1/26th individual person's prize instead. (6 teams of 4 + captain + coach = 26 people per side). Also, on some of these I had to do the addition on my own to get total purse.

In 2019 they added assistant coaches, but the media guide still says the purse is split amongst 26 per side. 2020 is when the math works out neatly for 27 per side. -- CurlingClips (talk) 22:18, 20 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
