Trivia edit

Santa Claus tracking

In 1955, a Sears Roebuck store in Colorado Springs, Colorado, gave children a number to call a "Santa hotline". The number was mistyped and children called the Continental Air Defense Command on Christmas Eve instead. The Director of Operations, Col. Harry Shoup, received the first call for Santa and responded by telling children that there were signs on the radar that Santa was indeed heading south from North Pole. Since then tracking of Santa Claus is made by North American Aerospace Defense Command as one of Santa Claus rituals in Northern American culture.

Science Fiction Theatre episode

In a 1955 Science Fiction Theatre series episode CONAD is alerted about the fear that bats could have lost their sonar ability while colliding with skyscrapers.
