Strange notation

I took the liberty of changing this

$\Delta y_{1}^{s}=y_{1}(p_{1}',m')-y_{1}(p_{1},m)={\text{Ys -Y1}}.$</math>

to this:

$\Delta y_{1}^{s}=y_{1}(p_{1}',m')-y_{1}(p_{1},m)=Y_{s}-Y_{1}.$

If for some reason the "text" style is needed for Ys and Y1, could one not write this

$\Delta y_{1}^{s}=y_{1}(p_{1}',m')-y_{1}(p_{1},m)={\text{Ys}}-{\text{Y1}}.$

with a proper minus sign instead of that stupid-looking hyphen? Contrast the two:
