Talk:Construction of the Lackawanna Cut-Off

Let's rename this article edit

I propose to rename this article "Construction of the Lackawanna Cut-Off" because a) it's not just about the contractors and b) it should follow WP naming convention (cf, Construction of the World Trade Center, Construction of Mount Rushmore, Construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, etc.). Please do. It's presently not exactly something I'd search for. Jamesx12345 17:27, 19 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Cost of Construction edit

Here's my issue with trying to convert 1911 dollars to 2013 dollars for a railroad project based on an inflation algorithm: it's meaningless. Various estimates I've seen put the cost of reproducing the line, assuming it could be done at all, at well over a billion US dollars. As a result, I'd suggest keeping the 1911 figure and then just simply state that the cost of building the line in the present day is unknown.WallyFromColumbia (talk) 22:10, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Should we keep the article or combine it with the main article? edit

I would keep this article for now. There are a number of old construction photos that need to be uploaded, and they would be more appropriately placed here, rather than the main article, in my opinion. Any thoughts? WallyFromColumbia (talk) 17:56, 23 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
