If, as the title suggests, this is about the use of Cats in Australia, it needs to cover the civilian use of the aircraft. If it is purely covering its use by the RAAF, a rename is warranted. YSSYguy (talk) 01:55, 2 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

With the exception of the PBY's service with Qantas, the aircraft saw limited civilian use. The current name is in solidarity with other articles, for example McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet in Australian service.--SamHolt6 (talk) 04:22, 2 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

The F/A-18 Hornet has seen no civilian use, whereas the Cat has been operated in Australian service of one form or another for more than fifty of the 72 years since the end of the war - continuously if non-aviation use is included; my point is, this is not covered at all in the article. Qantas, TAA, Ansett and other airlines operated Cats domestically post-war; PG Taylor had Frigate Bird II, one of several Cats that is now on display; Geoterrex operated a Cat on mineral survey flights for many years; Mike Wansey operated one as a Warbird for several years; HARS has been operating one as a Warbird for almost 15 years now, that has flown the best part of a thousand hours in that time.
