Talk:Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament

Outdated

edit

The statement that ends the article, "there are no houses of this congregation in America," is out of date. I just happened to have been editing Donald E. Pelotte, who is described in his article as once having been a provincial superior of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament before becoming a bishop. His brother is also noted in the article as being a member of the congregation.

This is one of the problems with just copying articles from the old Catholic Encyclopedia into Wikipedia. Yes, they're public domain, but they're also 95 years old and quite out of date. Gentgeen (talk) 22:42, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Other issues

edit

Well, there is duplication in the Catholic Encyclpedia, and now a duplicate article at Perpetual Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament. I have been updating that somewhat. I don't know whether the content of this article is worth preserving - perhaps it should just be redirected (except for the lead section). It is Quien not Quieu, for example (scanning error); and that's a self-link.

Further, Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament is the name of another congregation, so the title here suffers from ambiguity. Charles Matthews (talk) 09:30, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Who Founded the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament?

edit

English Wikipedia tells that this congregation was founded by St. Peter Julian Eymard, as well as the home page of the american province of Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. So this page needs a careful review.--Lagape (talk) 18:53, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Biosketch

edit

I do not believe that the biosketch of St Peter Julian belongs in this article. It was lifted wholesale from the saint's Wikipedia article, which is what caused the date styles to be inconsistent. There is already a link to the saint's article in the body of this article. If there are no objections I am going to remove it as well as the redundant links in the article. Surely more information about the congregation can be obtained from the congregation's own website. Caeruleancentaur (talk) 12:17, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

edit

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 23:49, 26 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
