Condolers

"Condolences are often used towards supportive actions against a faction or factions with incorrect goals that offers no good to mankind. Condolers or (Freedom fighters) are often seen walking the streets of Afghanistan or any other Atab [sic] country serving the peoples assholes

As I understand it, the word is used in connection with armed factions in the Arab world. And "freedom fighter" sounds like a euphemism for the Taliban. Could someone please clarify this? Morten Isaksen (talk) 09:07, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

The article is essentially about a form of condolence. The article Condolences is sorely lacking in content. Commentary on the subject of people giving condolences instead of doing something effective belongs in this article. This will give the proper context per WP:MERGEREASON. • As I view it, that article specifically talks about that phrase: when it is used and its criticisms. This article is more about condolences in general, and it may summarize the other article. Not to say that condolences are universally approved, but the references in the other article specifically talk about "thoughts and prayers". wumbolo ^^^ 17:59, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

That seems to be a bit of an WP:EASTEREGG or simply a violation of WP:SURPRISE. One would go to the article expecting an article about a phrase of condolence and find an article about an American controversy. Richard-of-Earth (talk) 18:51, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Mudwater, the argument was made here at the Wikipedia:Neutral point of view noticeboard in a discussion started by Mandruss that the article is about the phrase and not the controversy and that is why it was linked all over the place.
