Include in your post information that you think would be useful for this article. You can simply ask questions or ask for clarification, and maybe an editor will post. --KP Botany (talk) 06:23, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Natural?

edit

This image: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Septarian_Nodule.jpg Does anyone know if that is a natural formation completely, or if the coloring was put on by humans? It looks like the edges have been highlighted in black. I have no idea either way; but if anyone knows for certain that its a fully natural formation, I think that should be explained in the caption. 74.128.56.194 (talk) 13:56, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

It is all natural coloring. Wilson44691 (talk) 19:12, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Talkeetna Mountains Hadrosaur Paragraph

edit

The paragraph about the Talkeetna Mountains Hadrosaur is far too specific to this one fossil dinosaur and discusses virtually nothing about the taphonomic aspects of concretions to be appropriate to the Wikipedia article on concretions. Furthermore, this paragraph only rehashes duplicate material found in the Matanuska Formation article. Therefore, I removed it. If such a section is to be added to the article about concretions, it needs to discuss the taphonomic aspects of concretions relative to vertebrate, invertebrate, and plant fossils in general instead aimlessly babbling on about a single fossil dinosaur fossil as the paragraph, which I removed, does.Paul H. Medical Concretions?

edit

My doctor says I have a concretion in the back of my throat. It looks white and he says its from accumulated food and is related to my tonsils swelling due to mono. Shouldn't there be an article about this other concretion as well?75.129.91.157 (talk) 21:34, 11 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Trovants

edit

I found out that there was once a separate page about Trovants that now redirects here. It's last edit (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Trovant&oldid=278169908) contained some interesting and probably useful information, that is not included here. Shouldn't it be added, eg as another type of concretion? Or maybe in a new section? 212.160.172.85 (talk) 09:18, 13 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

In order to use the material in that now-redirected web page in a Wikipedia article, a verifiable, reliable source that clearly documents the statements made in the former article are needed. There is a lack of inline citations indicating any of the sources for specific statements made in it. In addition, the web pages in "external" links are both of dubious reliability and neither of them would be acceptable sources for Wikipedia. Paul H. (talk) 16:36, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect place name?

edit

This article, Concretions, mentions "grove county, ks". Google Maps search for grove county ks indicates no such county. There is a grove township containing the Grove, KS community. BTW... This is an excellent article. (User talk:2001:5b0:2873:d838:3d8c:331e:c0e3:259c)

You are correct. "Grove County, KS" should be "Gove County, KS". Paul H. (talk) 16:43, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
