Taxonomy: For all marine species, Project Gastropods uses the taxonomy in the online database WoRMS. When starting a new article, do not use sources of taxonomic information that predate the 2017 revision for all gastropod groups ("Revised Classification, Nomenclator and Typification of Gastropod and Monoplacophoran Families" by Philippe Bouchet & Jean-Pierre Rocroi, Bernhard Hausdorf, Andrzej Kaim, Yasunori Kano, Alexander Nützel, Pavel Parkhaev, Michael Schrödl and Ellen E. Strong in Malacologia, 2017, 61(1–2): 1–526.) (can be dowloaded at Researchgate.net), substituting the previous classification of 2005 Taxonomy of the Gastropoda (Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005). Please note that although the description is from the article naming the species, it has been placed here by one of the co-authors who is also an editor of the journal The Festivus. Accordingly it is not plagarism - by definition. Shellnut (talk) 17:52, 5 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

It's not plagiarism, but still there is a problem with copyright. I've tried to circumvent this problem by writing the description in my own words, based on the original text. Genus used? edit

We are using the taxonomy of this species as it appears in the database WoRMS. On Wikipedia, secondary sources are actually preferred over primary sources, and as a secondary source, WoRMS is a first-rate database that is staffed by many of the best taxonomists in the world. We follow WoRMS, we do not do our own OR (original research) about the validity of the taxonomy in terms of which genus is used for this species. Invertzoo (talk) 20:07, 7 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
