Descriptions

edit

It seems to me a list of these things is lacking because readers won't know which one to select unless there's a bit of a description. For that reason, I added some descriptions. I don't particularly like the layout, but it's something we can start with. Comments? -- Ke4roh 20:05, 18 May 2004 (UTC)Reply

i don't like the layout either...
i'm working on the "hub" page, which is a messy little disambiguation page. it had a whole paragraph about computer hubs, which is not really the point of disambig. pages. i moved that information over to this article (chopping that part of the "hub" page down to a brief sentance, as it should be). This seemed to be the best place to put it, although this article also needs work.

I believe too if there are some sort of graphics using perhaps a Visio diagram, it would make conceptualizing the inforamtion easier for novices.

DTE vs. DCE

edit

From the content, I gather that network device is a synonym for data communications equipment. I suspect it is not a technical term and so can also refer to data terminal equipment. --Kvng (talk) 14:48, 21 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Merge with Networking hardware

edit

I propose a merge as it looks like these two articles are covering the same set of devices. I prefer Computer networking device as the merge destination but am not committed to that. --Kvng (talk)

Networking hardware is the lead article for Category:Networking hardware, so it should be kept. The fact that the other article isn't even currently in that category speaks volumes about which article is "out of place" and needs to be merged to the proper location. Thanks. —Wbm1058 (talk) 18:38, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Which would be consistent with computer device redirecting to personal computer hardware. —Wbm1058 (talk) 20:11, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hub text is broken

edit

The current text reads " When using a hub, every attached all the objects, compared to switches, which provide a dedicated connection between individual nodes." This needs to be fixed. Could someone do it, please? --Pseudo-Richard (talk) 17:34, 30 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Done, along with other vandalism reverts. Ya gotta wonder when vandalism goes unrepaired for over a year. Thanks for reporting it. —Wbm1058 (talk) 20:01, 30 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
