Disambiguating "CT" edit

A lot of the incoming links here are through redirects like CT scan and CAT scan. Should those be redirected to the X-ray computed tomography article instead? Even the article on SPECT (linked here as one of the possible targets of "computed tomography") contrasts SPECT with "CT"; I think that implies that the X-ray form is commonly referred to by that acronym. What do you think? Dekimasuよ! 05:31, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Since no one else is chiming in, I think that the terms "CAT scan" and "CT scan" in ordinary usage refer specifically to the X-ray form of computed tomography, and these redirects should be changed accordingly. Also, I question whether this should be a disambiguation page at all; is there a general technique of Computed tomography that deserves an article of its own apart from the articles about specific technologies? --R'n'B (call me Russ) 16:05, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's not actually a disambiguation page anymore; see User talk:Arcadian#Computed tomography. I think the redirect is fine, since it's no longer implied that the X-ray version is the only form of computed tomography. And since Arcadian changed the page into a redirect himself, I think it's a good solution for everybody. Dekimasuよ! 16:42, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
