Respected Writers? edit

The term "respected writers" implies, not entirely truthfully, that they continued to hold this respect after the fiction was revealed. Likewise, calling them "previously respected writers" may be argued to be overstating the case in the opposite direction. Perhaps a more neutral word would be appropriate?24.17.180.126 (talk) 21:58, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I considered just calling them "notable writers" (certainly all of the listed examples fit that), then I considered that any adjective might be viewed as a weasel word. So for now I've left it as just "writers". Thanks for pointing this out. -MrFizyx (talk) 14:22, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

External links modified edit

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Composite character. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Merge proposal edit

Support, but in the reverse direction. The proposal, still open from 2015, to merge Composite character with a corresponding section, Amalgamation (fiction)#Amalgamated characters seems reasonable to me. However, given that both pages are short, I'd recommend merging the whole of Composite character into the characters section of Amalgamation (fiction); they're describing the same thing. Looking at this again, a merge seems reasonable, but Composite character is a broader title, in that it includes examples of journalism and non-fiction writing the purport to be "truthful rather than factual" through the use of composite characters. Hence, I suggest the merge in the initial direction, creating a new section in the target related to comics, which should be able to contain most of the incoming material.
