There is a lot to say about the history of the communication system (especially the telephone), the problems solved and not solved by the privatizations (and the corruption thereof), current stats, a full list of phone service providers, ISPs, etc. --Pablo D. Flores 14:04, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

There should be a section on the regulatory environment. I came here research the regulatory environment of telecommunications in Argentina. I suppose I will write about what I discover but if anyone would like to collaborate with me I'd like to exchange notes offline so the final product here is professional. Speaking of professional ,there seems to be a lot of opining, speculation and colloquial speech in this article -a mild criticism if you don't mind. --Ekmsid (talk) 03:31, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

"Argentina made the first television broadcast in Latin America in 1951"

This information is wrong. Brazil made its first television brodcasting in September 18th, 1950, being the second country in the world with commercial television (TV Tupi, channel 3 São Paulo). Brazil had the first television station in the southern hemisphere. Actually, Mexicans made the first television broadcast in Latin American in September 1st, 1950, but mexicans started with a public television, Televisa.

"(...) the telephone system frequently fails during rainstorms, even in Buenos Aires".

I am not sure that this is true. I live in Buenos Aires, and I have to say that the telephone system works perfectly. In Argentina there are basically two telephone companies: Telecom Argentina (a Spanish company) and Telefonica de Argentina (a French company). They both invested a lot of money in the 1990's, so these days we have a modern telephone network, although we can´t choose which company's service to use.

Please, excuse my spelling/grammar mistakes. Ignacio Oroná ignacioorona(AT)arnet.com.ar
