edit

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Collared Lizard 2.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on February 16, 2012. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2012-02-16. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! howcheng {chat} 17:31, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

The common collared lizard (Crotaphytus collaris) is a North American lizard well known for its ability to run on its hind legs. Its length, including the tail, can reach up to 12 inches (30 cm). Its name reflects its distinct coloration, which includes bands of black around the neck and shoulders that resemble a collar.Photo: Daniel Schwen

Hello! I rearranged the description section and added subheadings so that physical appearance is discussed first and then bipedal locomotion. I also moved the etymology and subspecies headings/sections from the end to the beginning of the article for better flow. Vportugal (talk) 18:12, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I ended up revising the Description section by removing the subheadings "physical appearance" and "bipedal locomotion" and instead making bipedal locomotion its own section. It is also mentioned in behavior, so it may be better to create its own section. I also created subheadings for behavior to include general behavior (diurnal behavior), social behavior, and mating behavior. This way mating behavior flows right into the discussion of reproduction. Hi! I renamed the "mating behavior" section as "mating behavior and rituals" in order to fully encompass the section's information. I also reorganized the "mating behavior and rituals" section under the "reproduction" heading as it seemed more appropriate under this heading. Finally, I made edits to the sentence structure and grammar of the description, diet, and reproduction/mating behavior and rituals headings. LewisWang4 (talk) 03:22, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
