The taxonomy here is a bit messed up, I've found various references to the number of species and sub-species. I'm not exactly sure how to treat this. I just wanted to get the page started since it is a common species and of economic importance since it is the alternate host for the comandra blister rust. And it's got a funny name. I would like to point out that the description of obligate parasites is inaccurate here as a fair number of photosynthesizing hemi-parasitic plants are still obligate parasites such as mistletoes. I believe that Comandra umbellata is in fact not obligate though. I am looking for a reliable and more recent source to confirm this. DracusBiology (talk) 09:53, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
TNCStatus
edit@Dr vulpes I think your TNC status template may be confused since this is a genus and a species. It is not displaying currently. MtBotany (talk) 19:50, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the catch, that's my mistake when I was adding the template. I'll go back and add some logic to prevent that from happening and review my previous edits. Dr vulpes (💬 • 📝) 20:38, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
