What is DrThird-States?
editWhat is "DrThird-States" supposed to mean? It was entered in the original version of this page, and is still there. It appears to be a typo. --4wajzkd02 03:45, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Looking at the markings of that Rifle it's not a Colt R0600 series sub Machinegun it's a Colt 9mm Sporter. As such the Image does not belong on the Colt 9mm Submachinegun page.Paulwharton 01:43, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Removed picture and replaced with real SMG 635 pictures
Quality?
editThis article is quite horrible, and I'm in the process of redoing it the best I can. It might need to be totally rewritten, but currently I'm just correcting errors and rewording to get it to minimum Wikipedia standard. -- Hayden120 07:39, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

I have cleaned up, added pictures of SMG 635 and merged the text
Merge
editI think that the Colt Submachine Gun be merged with this article. It seems they are talking about the same thing —Preceding unsigned comment added by G4raider (talk • contribs) 23:39, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Tiring
editThis little fight about Colt "improved design " UZI magazine for the SMG 635 is tiring. Colt used the UZI magazines on its 635. They milled a slot to accommodate the magazine release system of the AR 15 that is different of the UZI system. They made a cheaper elevator hence producing a less reliable magazine than the UZI. I would like to be presented evidences of an improved design. since when a cheaper lower quality copy is improved design. Maybe I am stupid to convert UZI mags to be used on 635. I love it when the contradiction comes from some people who never even had their hand on the magazines even less the weapon. I find it funny that there was not even a picture found of a real SMG 635 to include in the article before I posted mine.
Cheers.

Lower rectangular slot is original UZI, higher big slot is milled to allow use in Colt 635

US Marines?
editUnder the Users section, the US Marines are listed and the source is Modern Firearms page. Is this source considered reliable for sourcing of users? --Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 15:41, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- The Modern Firearms website is authored by Maxim Popenker, who wrote Modern Combat Pistols and other gun books (see related books, in the link). According to the link:
Maxim Popenker was born in Leningrad, graduated from St Petersburg State Technical University and is a lieutenant [reserve] in the Russian Armed Forces. He is an established author of books and magazines and online articles on the subject of firearms. He is the owner and author of a leading Internet resource on small arms, the 'Modern Firearms and Ammunition' website at www.worldguns.ru. Maxim has a long-term interest in the history and technical aspects of firearms, especially those of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
- The website's organization and grammar is poor (he's Russian), but I don't think that alone would disqualify it as a reliable source. ROG5728 (talk) 15:52, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the details. If that site is a reliable source, it will be a benefit to other articles as well.--Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 16:28, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- No offense to Mr. Popenker, but I personally don't find his site or his books as reliable sources on certain matters as Wikipedia does (military procurement being one of them). In this case, however, he seems to be somewhat correct as a search brought up this link showing Marines training on a range with the weapon. However, that's the only image I can find. If someone has or can find a source that links more closely with the USMC than Modern Firearms stating they use it, please come forward, because I can't seem to find anything else.
