Parenthetical

This was added to the article: "(though to be fair many of the upper deck seats were sold for $5 or less)." This is hardly unusual, lots of teams have cheap seats, right? That's why I took it out, it sounds more like a dig than a useful piece of information. Awiseman 02:04, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Subpages

I believe the policy is not to use them like this. Melchoir 04:18, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Yabu

Keiichi Yabu currently plays for the Rockies. Why isn't he listed on the roster?

He's not on their rosters on the official site or Yahoo. He might be in the minor leagues, which would be why he's not on the roster Awiseman 14:50, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Please add to article

This is one of the shortest baseball articles here. Anyone who is a Rockies fan or is knowledgable about the team, please feel free to add any pertinent info.--CrazyTalk 19:27, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

New Updates

I've decide to change some sections of the page because it seems as though the recent history (2006) has really lagging behind what has really been happening. Please, someone else also help out. --69.115.244.64 20:30, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

I appreciate your help, but you can't say things like "gave the fans hope" or "such and such was memorable" and such, it's editorializing. Also, you should get a username, it makes editing easier. --Awiseman 21:03, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Ahkay, thanks for the help (this is my new screenname). I still think the article could use some more information, though. --Mister Congeniality 21:22, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Sure thing, and I definitely agree! I just cleaned up your edits a little bit. If you want to add stuff on the rising stars, I think that would be helpful, but make sure they have sources like news articles or something. --Awiseman 21:37, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

I've overhauled the history section. Should be better now.Tomdaddy53 07:31, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

The effects of altitude on baseball

Does anyone think there is enough info to warrant an article on it's own? I don't mean just the info in the Rockies article but as an independent artcle on its own. Kingjeff 00:28, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't know exactly how much info is out there, but there could be enough. The Rockies article seems like an appropriate place to put it because they're the only MLB team that has to deal with it on a regular basis, but you could justify creating a separate article. Tomdaddy53 11:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Famous Fans

Please tell me that section is a joke. A guy who died in 1629 is a "famous fan" of the Rockies? Tomdaddy53 11:24, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

If you take a look at this Aaron Hill and this Aaron Hill, then you see that the link could be for the wrong person. Kingjeff 15:27, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Nickname

One of the things that have become a major part of the baseball articles has been the nicknames. They've ben added to the leads as well as the infoboxes. However, the Rockies are one of the notables not to have one, at least not one mentioned in the article. What nicknames do the Rockies go by? I'm sure they are not known only as "The Rockies". - Silent Wind of Doom 19:03, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Even living in Denver, I have only heard of "The Rocks/Rox" as the only nickname. Jmlk17 11:03, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

2007

The final tiebreaker game with the Padres counted as a regular season victory. I updated their 2007 record to 90-73 accordingly.Swiftbow 03:50, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Excellent :). Jmlk17 05:58, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Rivals

Do the Rockies have any rivals? Even any AL rivals? Seems like the Rockies do not have any rivals.

I think after the 2007 postseason, they can probably count the Diamondbacks as rivals. Jkonrath 02:39, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps. They really haven't had any large history with a club that would warrant a rivalry...yet. Jmlk17 09:44, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

replay "inconclusive"?

It's not unanimous that the replay of the final play of the Rockies 2007 regular season is "inconclusive" ... here's a few links that suggest otherwise ...

http://www.hollidaynevertouchedtheplate.com/

http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/video?id=3071027

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jp-rockieslist101807&prov=yhoo&type=lgns ... "Holliday's chin bounced off the ground, leaving a scrape that today continues to heal. His hand, sealed off by Barrett's leg, never touched the plate. And yet home plate umpire Tim McClelland called him safe."

Lynchmob98 22:21, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

It's not unanimous that he missed the plate, either. Hence, "inconclusive". Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 23:11, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Do you have a link to anything someone has written indicating they believe he touched the plate? Lynchmob98 19:08, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
I don't need one. If some say he didn't touch, and some don't take a position, that equates to "inconclusive". Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 22:51, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Who's not taking a position? What's your position? Lynchmob98 04:22, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
My own position? That's original research. In any case, I couldn't tell from the replay, whether he made contact with the plate or not. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 04:29, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
If you wanted to you could put in Holliday's quote about the slide from the PTI video --AW 17:51, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
What is "PTI video"? Do you have a link? This sounds like a good idea. Lynchmob98 19:08, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Ownership of Team in the Infobox

In the infobox it says the owners of the team are Charlie Monfort and Dick Monfort. But they are the executives, not the owners. In the quickfacts at the bottom it lists the owners as Linda G. Alvarado, Pete Coors, Lee Larson, Marne Obernauer Sr., Marne Obernauer Jr., Denver Newspaper Agency, Coors Brewing Co., Clear Channel Communications, and Beverage Distributors Corp. I don't know much about the Colorado Rockies, so I'm gonna leave it up to someone who knows more about them shed light on if the info box is correct or if the quickfacts is correct. -Chris01720 21:59, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Federal Trade Commission Investigation

The only references I can find to the FTC Ref. No. 11922277, quoted as the citation for the FTC citation with any combination of World Series, Colorado Rockies or Paciolan is to this article or the 2007 World Series Wikipedia article. The FTC website shows nothing. I can't find any news articles either. Any other references for this investigation or should this be removed? Jons63 01:59, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Rockies interlocking CR purple-black.png

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. File:ColoradoRockiesCactusLogo.jpg

I think we need to include this logo somewhere in the article. To my knowledge, this is the official Rockies logo used for Spring Training, and the only logo I can think of in Major League Baseball history that has been modified in such a manner. Used primarily in the 1990s and early 2000s, though I believe you can still find it at certain stands at Hi Corbett Field. Like I've stated, this is the official derivative logo. --Slxception (talk) 06:30, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Humidor

It is late in the 2010 season as I write this. There has been a great deal of sports-press attention to the Rockies' humidor. Evidently there was controversy surrounding their possible selective use of humidor-treated baseballs. A dry ball is easier to hit long; the humidor balls are heavier and do not travel as well. When the Rockies were eliminated from the post season, attention went elsewhere. Nonetheless, a fair treatment of the topic would be appropriate for this article. History Article Creation

I created a History of the Colorado Rockies article. The history section in this article should be reduced in size. Arnabdas (talk) 18:43, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

Blake Street Bombers

Does anybody else have a problem with the "Blake Street Bombers" being listed as a nickname for the team? The BSB were a select group of power hitters from the 90's who played for the Rockies.50.201.228.200 (talk) 21:55, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
