Talk:Cologarithm

Latest comment: 6 years ago by 174.228.1.99

This article does not specify whether a cologarithm is the natural logarithm or the common logarithm. Could someone whom knows which please add more details? Jecowa 05:58, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

It would be the same either way, but the addition of this is another example of wiki creations gone too far. We may as well give a special name to sqrt(1/x), sin(1/x), and e^(1/x). The 'creation' of a name found in a textbook dating back to the early 1900's is not needed, and only serves to further clutter an increasingly cluttered wiki. Imagine what will happen to wikipedia (and it is already happening) if one needs only to define a term in a paper somewhere in order for it to become 'official'. I define the Xylog base b of a complex number c to be the sum of the base b logarithms of the real part and the square of the imaginary part. Now, let's create a wiki on it and add it to merriam webster. Geez. 174.228.1.99 (talk) 06:49, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
