"gai mai" literally means "chicken tail" or cocktail. is "gai mai" Cantonese for cocktail (alcoholic beverage)? Or is it an idiom meaning "odds and ends", which would fit the description of the invention of the bun? (Aside: I do quite like the English translation of the name.
