As a well-known reference alludes, "Cockroaches and lobsters are both arthopods, but that doesn't mean they are closely related at all. Cockroaches are insects, while lobsters are crustaceans. ... Lobsters and cockroaches shared an ancestor 440 million years ago, while humans and frogs shared an ancestor 370 million years ago." Yes, humans are more closely related to frogs than decapods are related to cockroaches. They may look similar, but that's because form follows function. You'd be closer to the truth if you said "decapods like lobsters and shrimp were spiders of the sea." Who knows?
