"Nutritional" balance was not an issue, pace Anne Mulhern of Glasgow's Willow Tea Rooms. Fowl cooked with fruit, specifically prunes, was characteristic of pre-modern medieval cuisine. Plenty of references: google books "medieval cuisine fowl prunes".--Wetman (talk) 23:53, 6 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
