Mergeto: Coccidia edit

  • Support - Having the disease and the causative agent seperate seems utterly pointless to me. I support the mergeto into Coccidia. Thor Malmjursson 13:47, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - I agree. --Joelmills 19:30, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
More information should be included and I agree that all the coccidia species should be listed and defined within the main article. This article needs lots of additional information. Coral.williams (talk) 19:51, 18 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Recreation of the page edit

I have decided to move the disease related material back to a separate page. It is the convention on the medical pages to seperate the causivie organism and the disease. Also the taxonomy is now somewhat more advanced in WP that it was earlier - albeit still with lots of work needing to be done.DrMicro (talk) 15:52, 26 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Etymology edit

Greek kokkidion = "berry" (kokonut) + osis = "a state of disease." So - a state of disease characterised by some berry shaped thing = oocyst / cysts - the latter usually range in size between five and 50 µm in diameter,[36] (with 50 µm being about two-thirds the width of the average human hair). Pls complete - sorry - this is all I had time for. Cheers, SvenAERTS (talk) 23:04, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
