Failed "good article" nomination

edit

This article failed good article nomination. This is how the article, as of November 12, 2007, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: FAIL - Minor grammatical errors. The article is not well organized (e.g. location and proximity to public transportation are mentioned in the "Design" section). Additionally, lead section does not act as an introduction to and summation of the article. Reorganization and inclusion of, perhaps, a location section, would help remedy the problem.
2. Factually accurate?: PASS – There may, however, be concern that the majority of sources are from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Perhaps other sources could be utilized to both expand the article and provide more solid support.
3. Broad in coverage?: FAIL - A design section and gallery do not appear to adequately address a notable performing arts center. One reference, after all, is entitled "Arts center concept falls short in execution". At the very least, an additional section addressing critical response to the structure seems warranted.
4. Neutral point of view?: FAIL - Article appears, at times, to have been written from a promotional standpoint (e.g. "grand alabaster staircase", "visitors are greeted by", "...evoke the glass art", etc.)
5. Article stability? PASS
6. Images?: FAIL – Relatively minor concerns: “main” picture of the structure does not have a caption; “façade” image does not appear to contribute anything beyond “main” picture.

The article is off to a reasonable start. I would, however, characterize it as a rudimentary start-class article, as the information seems sparse and disorganized.

When these issues are addressed, the article can be renominated. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to take it have it reassessed. Thank you for your work so far.— Elcobbola 20:04, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
