Nine Stripes or Ten?

The article says nine stripes, the illustrations show ten. Also, can nine or ten stripes be simply "barry"? Is there a default number in German heraldry? If there is, is it nine or ten as shown? If it is not, then the blazon can't be just "barry" but would be "barry OF" such and such a number. Finally, if it really is nine stripes and not ten, wouldn't it be "sable, four bars or" (or, supposing that the outer stripes are gold, "or, four bars sable")? Doesn't "barry of" a certain number require an even number? If the count of stripes is odd and so the first and last stripes are the same color, then that color is the background color and the smaller number of stripes is lying ON that color. If the number of colors is even and so the first and last stripes are of opposite color, then neither color is background nor lying ON the other color. "herb of beautiful girls", "miracle cure", or "protection from misfortune"

I have removed two references in the gallery describing crancelin as "(common rue), the herb of the beautiful girls, a miracle cure and protection from misfortune".

• Having it twice is redundant
• Having it in the gallery of former images is inappropriate, given that the current arms also contain crancelin
• Regarding each of the stated attributes ("herb of beautiful girls", "miracle cure", or "protection from misfortune")
  • If it is uncited it should not be stated at all
  • If it has a specific association with its use in relation to Saxony, that should be stated in the main text of the article, not relegated to the gallery
  • Otherwise, it should be stated at crancelin or common rue rather than in this article.

The common rue article already says the herb is "an attribute of young girls, associated with virginity and maidenhood" but in Lithuania rather than Saxony. jnestorius^(talk) 13:20, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
