Propose move to Unity Party (Norway) edit

This article needs to be moved, as the translation "Union Party" gives a totally wrong impression of what the party was. It was not in favour of the union with Sweden, indeed it presided over the dissolution of said union. The word "Samling" in the Norwegian name "Samlingspartiet" translates directly as "gathering" or in this context, more or less "unity". The "samling" in question was meant to be unity between all the non-Socialist political forces in the country, not unity with Sweden, as the name "Union Party" would lead anyone to believe. --Barend (talk) 15:18, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Comment Another important point here is policy is to use the usual translation (if any) into English, per WP:NAME, WP:UE, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (political parties); any problems with whatever the usual English translation is can be mentioned in the introduction, and the article name doesn't mandate use of the term in the article. I note the Christian Michelsen article calls it the "United Party" (I assume it's the same entity?) but with no references, that means very little indeed. --Rogerb67 (talk) 02:10, 11 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
