Name

Is there any support for the use of "Nautical Club" as in the text ? Shouldn't we follow the page name ? Anyway, my dictionary say that the Spanish "Club Nautico" actually means "Yacht Club". -- Beardo 05:31, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

I use to go there as a child (1956-58) and that's what I remember it was called in Havana. "Nautical Club" wouild be the correct translation in English, however, as you can see the Cubanet and the Architect's Newspaper use the name as used in Havana. To answer you other question, "Nautico" is not the name of the area although there were various private clubs and public beaches like La Concha. Thanks. I am not questioning the actual name - I am questioning whether it is right to use the English translation of those two words. Was it called "Club Nautico" because it is a beach club ? Or was it called that because the whole area was already called "Nautico" - including the "Reparto Nautico" which is next to the club.

Club Nautico was the name of the building, the establishhment and the beach, it has always been called that even before Max Borges as far as know; you thik it should be "Nautical Club"? The buildings are still there although I've heard they are in bad shape like the rest of the buidings in Havana. Have you seen the three videos in the 'External Links' section? Also you should see Borges' page and the Tropicana. The Max Borges Jr. House_1958 is about 1-1/2 miles from the Nautico.
