I haven't so far managed to track down his initial commission in either the London Gazette or The Times. However, he went to Sandhurst, it should be possibl eto find him in the digitised "Registers of Gentleman Cadets" at http://www.sandhurstcollection.org.uk/. However, the site doesn't seem to be working today. I'll try and look him up in the Army List too. David Underdown (talk) 17:17, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
