Waters Protected and Case Law Sections
I've consolidated text in these sections. The "Waters Protected" section is a brief summary of the statute and current judicial/administrative interpretations. "Case Law" provides some additional information on major cases, but a separate article is the appropriate place to describe a case in detail., e.g. Rapanos. The Clean water Act does not cover rust and sediment that is sent to people's homes that comes from city wells so the home owner has to filter that out themselves, however, the cities call it clean water in fact they can send mud to your house and it is considered clean water according to the clean water act. Nonpoint source pie charts
A graphic which indicates a condition or trend to support the text would be welcome in this article, but the NPS pie charts in the added graphic are not very informative. Most importantly there is no date provided to show whether the charts represent current conditions (i.e. 2012) or some earlier snapshot in time. Is it pre-1972, 1987, or some other period? The caption states "Nonpoint source pollutants have increased..." but no time frame is provided. Additionally, the sentence was copied directly from another document, with no paraphrasing, which violates Wikipedia policy. A citation of the source is needed. I replaced the first-person "our nation's waters" with "U.S. waters." (See WP:FIRSTPERSON.) By the way, the source document for the charts is not copyrighted, as stated in the Wiki Commons entry. It's a U.S. government publication, specifically from the US Forest Service, which is public domain. Moreau1 (talk) 04:50, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

what about Section 305(b)?
- I added a heading and a sentence for National Water Quality Inventory. More could be added here. Also added an external link to the EPA webpage for the "305(b) Report." Moreau1 05:21, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
