Under ideal conditions, O. claytoniana can reach heights of over 200 cm.

An easier way to distinguish sterile O. claytoniana from O. cinnamomea is to look at the the tip of the frond. If it is very pointed (less than 45 degrees, probably less than 30) it is Cinnamon Fern.
