First of all, please discount my needless affirmation that my edit "was not vandalism." I misread an edit summary that related to somebody else's edit.

For future reference, the following sources suggest the original year of birth listed is correct:

No source for the DOB was listed when it was changed to 26.10.1981 by 87.112.61.40 on 5 July 2010 (as pointed out by Dismas in the subsequent edit and also mentioned in my original edit summary).

It may well be that the change stems from a wish not to reveal the original DOB. If this is the case, I believe it would be preferable for the DOB to be removed rather than one with no source to be added.
