In 1558, the Turks under Barbarossa entered and decimated the city.

But Barbarossa (Ottoman admiral) died in 1546.

I agree. The admiral of the Turkish navy was Piyale Pasha who was backed by Turgut Reis. This can be checked in the articles Turgut Reis and Piyale Pasha. I am going to edit the name of the admiral accordingly. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 12:31, 21 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
