Greater Brisbane Amalgamation?

Anyone have any official references to amalgamation with Brisbane? I know part of Pine Rivers is trying to switch from CRAP to BCC and I have heard that the entirety of Moreton may go as well, which only makes sense. Renaming from Moreton Bay Region to City of Moreton Bay

In the enthusiasm to rename "Moreton Bay Region" as "City of Moreton Bay" etc, please change each use individually and carefully, don't just change them all without reading the context and considering whether the change is appropriate. Remember that the new name only applies to things that exist now and events going forward and does not apply to things/events from the period of 2008 and July 2023 (during which time most content on Wikipedia about this local governent area would have been written). So, for example, the suburb of Clontarf is correctly described as being in the City of Moreton Bay (because "is" refers to the present day), but if the council built a new community centre in Clontarf in 2015, then it was the Moreton Bay Regional Council that built it, not the Moreton Bay City Council. The same applies to citations. If someone cited the LGA's website in 2018, then the website/publisher of the citation was the Moreton Bay Regional Council (which means pretty much all previous citations should remain unchanged). Sometimes, in an article it may be appropriate to note the name change to avoid confusing the reader E.g. "In 2008, the City of Redcliffe was amalgamated into the Moreton Bay Region, which was renamed in July 2023 to be the City of Moreton Bay" is better than mentioning only one of the two names. I note that I am talking here about the visible name that appears in the article when rendered to the user, obviously if the term is linked, then it will redirect through to the City of Moreton Bay article. That is ok, because the City of Moreton Bay article mentions immediately that it was formerly Moreton Bay Region, so any surprise to the reader about the different naming is quickly explained. One problematic issue is that the Moreton Bay City Council is yet to update all of their website, which makes citing the parts which are not yet updated a bit of a problem. E.g. at the moment, their webpages about their library refer to everything as Region/Regional not City but the logo displayed has been updated at City of Moreton Bay. So if you need to cite one of these webpages prior to be updated, what do you do? The golden rule of citation is always "Cite it where you saw it" so to my mind that means citing the page title with Region/Regional in it, but I think you can legitimately call the website/publisher by the City name (because that is the truth at the time of citation). I don't think we should assume we know what the new webpage title will be and use that, as there may be other revamping of the website that occurs as part of the update process.
