Talk:Circus Circus Las Vegas

two casinos with the same name

edit

There are two casinos with the same name. Each should have their own page. There is one for Circus Circus Reno. Once this page is moved, then the Circus Circus page should become a disambiguation page pointing to the other two pages. Once that is completed, the Reno property information should be removed.

What about the arcade/pizza place that has been largely replaced by Chuck E. Cheese?
If there are other uses of the name then they should be added to the Circus Circus dab page. Vegaswikian 19:23, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:CircusCircusLogo.jpg

edit

Image:CircusCircusLogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Rumour about demolishing and rebuilding the Circus Circus

edit

Why was this rumour anout demolishing Circus Circus and rebuilding it posted in this article? sure, the hotel towers built in 1972 and 1975 are old enough, but the Skyrise Tower (1986) and West Tower (1996) are not. If MGM Mirage wants to demolish any portion of the property, they should tear down the lowrise Manor buildings and remove the RV Park, build a 5th hotel tower, and construct a new casino resort just north of it. When it comes to tearing down a skyscraper young, Las Vegas is a big white elephant.Jim856796 01:03, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ownership

edit

Can someone please provide a link that shows MGM actually owns Circus Circus? I was under the impression it was still owned by Circus Circus Group. This would also make sense as they have their own players card, where as all of the other MGM properties have a linked players card. Did you look at the bottom of the casino page linked in the infobox? Vegaswikian (talk) 18:11, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The image File:Adventuredome.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
