List of bus services

edit

The list of bus services is not really in keeping with an article about a ferry warf is it? Garrie 04:07, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The list provides information as to what other transport interchange facilities are available at the wharf. Hence it serves a purpose from that point of view. I made some changes to the list in the last couple of weeks, not realising this comment was here. However I have since also found that Circular_Quay_railway_station contains the same information but with a lot of differences. So far any differences I have investigated, show this list to be incorrect. I will continue to investigate further differences. Once that is completed a decision needs to be made which of the two lists should be retained as this type of information should not be duplicated in two different articles.Fleet Lists (talk) 23:06, 1 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

This is a shame because it should be the basis of quite a good set of articles, around the major transportation services that all meet at Circular Quay. Unfortunately I don't have any access to non-primary information regarding the ferry warves at Circular Quay but I hope someone does. Garrie 04:33, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The ferry wharves are a transport interchange... bus services are entirely appropriate to the article. Additionally, the article is not "original research". I think you completely misunderstand the concept of OR. OR is like writing an essay on something. To write an article on a ferry terminal with the list of services from specific wharves, and the connecting bus services is NOT original research. The information is taken from the respective Sydney Bus and Sydney Ferries websites. There is plenty of historical information available on these things too which I haven't got around to putting in. I'm removing this ridiculous tag. (JROBBO 02:59, 26 August 2006 (UTC))Reply
Well, once you had added the links the tag was ridiculous. But without any references whatsoever what else was I meant to tag it with.....
The article name is "Circular Quay ferry wharf. That is why I was questioning the bus information. If the bus routes were at Circular Quay, New South Wales then I wouldn't have the same conundrum. Garrie 00:39, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've removed this entire section since it's impossible to keep up to date (no one had added the 333 Prepay Only service, which is one of the most popular bus services now, and despite that service starting well over a year ago), and Ga is quite correct that this article is supposed to be about the ferry wharf, not the bus terminal. The transport links to the ferry wharf (which are supposed to be in every article and every railway station article too) are a relevant part. Let's fix them up, not just delete them. JRG (talk) 05:58, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am currently working on that - see comments in previous section.Fleet Lists (talk) 23:13, 1 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yesterday I updated Circular_Quay_railway_station to correct a few errors on the bus services listed there - it was far more correct than the list in this article. I will now delete the list from here with a mainpage reference to the list in Circular_Quay_railway_station to stop the duplication of data.Fleet Lists (talk) 03:34, 4 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Neighbouring wharves

edit

Some weeks ago some services were copied from Neighbouring Wharves to Services in the Infobox in the format used by train stations. This was fine in itself. However nothing has been done with the remaining services which left some information duplicated in two places, so I have copied the remaining services to the infobox allbeit in the old format pending conversion of those to the new format - at least this way all ferry service information is in the one place and has allowed the Neighbouring wharves information to be removed as has been done for most other ferry wharves. Hopefully the conversion of the remaining services is going to be done shortly by the editor who started that exercise.Fleet Lists (talk) 06:08, 9 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

What's the story about this, did it get destroyed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.242.81.170 (talk) 09:17, 6 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
