Unsourced, clean up

edit

Please take a look at Ben Gurion International Airport, a featured article on an airport. Note the structure, the organization, and the number of sources. Please use that article as a comparison for what this article needs. The sourcing tag MUST stay until content is sourced. Adding four sources is a step in the right direction, but not nearly enough to warrant removing the tag. Please go through the article. You will note that just about every sentence is unsourced, and therefore our readers cannot verify the content. How can I verify that there is a expansion of runway 11 by 200m? How can I verify that it is one of the two most modern runways in the country? How can I verify that American Airlines is the largest carrier? How can I verify the charter schedule? How can I verify that fight 1892 was canceled on October 30th? This is just the tip of the iceberg. Seriously, this article does not meet WP:V, and we need the tag to explain that until the issues have been addressed. I also believe the article needs to be cleaned up: the organization and structure of the article needs to be refined, the prose needs polishing, and some sections may need cleaning up (especially the longer lists). As I said, if you aren't familiar with wikipedia policy, or need an example, Ben Gurion International Airport is a featured article on an airport, so it is a good example of what we should aim for here. Hope this helps. Please discuss here before removing the tags again. -Andrew c [talk] 13:14, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok, i got it. now i sourced all unreffered sentences that i found, i know that there are some things that aren't reffered yet, but i did what i can. I organized the article, completly. I'll finish to put all refferences that i know in the article. Lacreta (talk) 10:39, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

References and Sources added

edit

I've added some of the references that this article needs, about JetBlue's increasing flights, the statistics and some others that nedded it. Now the Airport's article is cleaned up an sourced, so i think that the Unsourced Tag have to be removed of the article page. I will wait some days before remove it, so you'll have chance to read the advise. If you know about more sources, please add it where is nescesary.....

There are still major sourcing issues. We don't have a source for any of lists under "Airlines and destinations". There are only 2 sources under "Incidents and Accidents" when we list 7 different incidents. The "Flights" section is completely unsourced. I could go on. The needs additional references or sources for verification tag needs to stay. As for clean up, there are a number of Manual of Style issues still not addressed. The "See also" section is being misused. There are capitalizations in headers that don't need to be there. The long lists under "Airlines and destinations" need clean up and probably significant pruning (long lists generally are not encyclopedic, especially unsourced lists). And there are formatting inconsistencies with some content being in parenthesis, and some being in italics. The prose also needs major work. There is weird phrasings, such as "The international terminal is the most utilized and receives most of the flights operating in here and it has modern installations to make easier the check-in, boarding and baggage climb processes," that seem like a non-native speaker (or grade school student) wrote. I appreciate your effort put into the article, but it no where near comes close to adhering to our basic policy of verification, nor is it inline with our manual of style yet. The tags should stay. (I also do not think we should have removed the merge tags. I believe that smaller (under 4kb) article still should be merged here. The only reason why I haven't done it myself yet, is because the writing and English is so bad and would need major copy editing and re-writing). -Andrew c [talk] 01:02, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
