The article says that its last break-off group went extinct in 1969. Obviously, that's not the case if you are a member of a church that traces its authority through this church. Are there any published references on your church that we could use to update the article on this point? Snocrates 03:42, 20 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, My father is a minister in our Church and maybe it's just under the same name seeing as how our doctrine does not emulate that of the Latter Day Saints. Sorry about the confusion. Maybe I can start an article titled General Assembly Church of the Firstborn. As far as published references, I'm not sure if there are any out there. I'll do some more research and get back to you on it. I will check the websites under the notes section. It could prove helpful in my search to find my church's orgin.137.240.136.86 16:12, 1 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

___________________________ I am not sure why my corrrection was deleted, but there are dozens of Church of the Firstborn around the country which have been existance since before 1969 and have grown out of the Church of the Firstborn which existed atleast in the 17th century if not before.

I am not sure why someone does not want the truth to be published. Oviously, the LDS and the other Church of the Firstborn took thier names from Hebrews 12:23 which has existed since the first century. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.58.86.109 (talk) 17:51, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's because the way you are going about the edit is not the right way. If there are other churches of the same name, the method is to create a new article with "Church of the First Born (XXXX)" as the title, with "XXXX" being a disambiguating term. Then the material on this page could be moved to "Church of the Firstborn (Morrisite)", an appropriate DAB term, and then this page could be used as a disambiguation page to indicate the existence of multiple churches of the same name. Snocrates, I am new to wikipedia, sorry for the mikstake. The information that you published is partly accurate, but onctains many innacuracies. I have seen the excerps from the rare book that I referred to previoulsy which were published in 1701 referring to the chrch of the firstborn as an existing group. Until the late 1800s the church met from house to house. The first church buildings were in the 1890s. I have the 2006 directory of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn which lists 121 congregations with the oldest ones in the 1890s and several before 1907. I would liket to see the accurate information published. --Shanetoland (talk) 02:11, 8 January 2008 (UTC)--68.58.101.1 (talk) 02:09, 8 January 2008 (UTC) --Shanetoland (talk) 02:11, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's probably a different group. Start an article about the group you are referring to as my reference is fairly clear about the points set out in the article. Snocrates 03:42, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
