Yakikaki You've got a HARV error in citation 27 Lindgren 2015 -- it's not pointing to anything. —valereee (talk) 11:11, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Opening statement

edit

Hello, and come what may from this review, thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. During the review, I may make copyedits, which I will limit to spelling correction and minor changes to punctuation (removal of double spaces and such). I will only make substantive edits that change the flow and structure of the prose if I previously suggested and it is necessary. The Nominator(s) should understand that I am a grammar pedant, and I will nitpick in the interest of prose quality. For responding to my comments, please use   Done,   Fixed,   Added,   Not done,   Doing..., or   Removed, followed by any comment you'd like to make. I will be crossing out my comments as they are redressed, and only mine. A detailed, section-by-section review will follow. –♠Vami_IV†♠ 07:21, 12 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Around 1250, there is a stylistic shift towards Gothic style. The composition of the murals becomes lighter and more airy, while some iconographic changes can be observed. Marian themes and Christian mysticism become more popular. Combine, change to past-tense, and condense. Consider: Around 1250, there was a stylistic shift towards Gothic that saw lighter and more airy compositions and the rising popularity of Marian and Christian mystic motifs.

  • They tend to cover the entire painted surface. This is redundant; paintings always cover the painted surface.
Fixed Changed to "wall surface", that was the point. Yakikaki (talk) 14:06, 12 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Romanesque murals

edit
  • In many cases, only fragments remain.[1] The remains that do exist constitute only a small portion of the original works.[1][3] The second sentence is redundant.

  • The chancel arch could also contain images of saints or donor portraits.[8] Sometimes a depiction of the Passion was painted above the chancel arch.[8] Combine.
