“On the stage”

edit

Pinging @User: 2600:100F:B02B:8131:8919:75EB:C0C2:A20B @User:146.129.201.66 @User: 146.129.239.6. There has been significant reversions regarding the phrasing in in the beginning of the lead: “gaining recognition for his performances in film, television, and theatre”. “theatre” has been replaced with variations of “stage” and “on the stage”. Personally, I maintain that it should remain as it was, as it sounds more concise. The fields of television, film, and theatre, are typically referred to exactly as such with little variation. With consistent formatting, it could easily be summarized as “on the stage and screen” - but this is not so at the moment. This discussion is to prevent edit warring. Perhaps it is just a neat way to help those editors who do not know which way Canadians spell theatre/theater? Davidships (talk) 22:17, 8 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Greatly aged performers with decades of work through to the end

edit

It might be something to create a list of performers who lived to a great old age and kept working, like Christopher Plummer or Betty White or George Burns -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 07:22, 1 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

We'd need objective criteria for such, and likely evidence that it was considered notable that they were working at such great old ages. DonIago (talk) 17:32, 3 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Christopher Plummer as King Herod

edit

I have noticed there is no mention of Christopher Plummer in his character portrayal as King Herod in the all-star cast of 1977's Jesus of Nazareth. This was a major film and won a few awards even though Plummer was not nominated. cite: "ROBERT POWELL ON THE REAL JESUS OF NAZARETH". History. You might want to read again. It's mentioned in the article in at least one place other than the filmography. DonIago (talk) 05:59, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
