In January 2022, on the eve of the Russian invasion, Lambrecht offered to help Ukraine with 5,000 helmets and a field hospital. The offer and Lambrecht's statement that it was "a clear signal that Germany stood behind Ukraine", met with disbelief and ridicule at home and abroad. I did find many references for this. However, if one deems Lambrecht's 5,000 helmets action to be wrong, one should also point to the correct course of action.
