Pic

Image currently in article, Image:Christi.jpg is unverified; does anyone know its source?

A PD or GFDL licenced image would be prefered if someone can replace it. -- Infrogmation 15:12, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)

I think you can find a better picture than the current one.

Agreed. It looks like Renee Zellwegger. --Tellerman

Please include a picture once you get a chance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.176.211.246 (talk) 05:41, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

I uploaded a current pic of Miss Applegate that I got from a radio website, but dont have a copywrite to it. Can it be used?Se0sea 22:23, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Trivia

Is this really something to put in an encyclopedia article: She was born within five months of another famous "Kelly," Jennie Garth, of Beverly Hills, 90210 fame. --Thf1977 14:46, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Father born in Russia?

Where did this come from? --Tellerman

Breast cancer

there is no way MEDICALLY, to legitimately say that she will have a complete recovery from breast cancer. the fact is, these cancers can spread on a cellular level and not be detected for YEARS. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.99.8.158 (talk) 04:44, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

There are grammatical errors and punctuation errors, but the article is locked. That section should be fixed. Also, isn't it enough to say she was diagnosed with breast cancer, does the article need to have big long quote about how it was announced? 162.136.192.1 (talk) 22:04, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Re "cancer was found in only one of them": In this sentence, the word "them" is grammatically ambiguous. Please change this to read "cancer was found in only one breast." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.200.177.10 (talk) 17:03, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Her cancer was discovered at an early stage, when it was relatively small, and hadn't spread to any other organs. Breast cancer usually takes several months, if not longer, to spread from the breast. Applegate had both breasts completely removed, so we can be sure that all of the neoplasm was removed. The double mastectomy was done because the BRCA1 mutation which caused the disease would likely reoccur in any breast tissue that remained. As it is, she is now permanently free of breast cancer. BRCA1 also very often cause ovarian cancer; I read that she is considering having them removed as a pre-emptive measure. A large subsection about the matter is rightly on her biography, as it is a major part of her life, and gained considerable media coverage: 'famous, attractive young woman gets serious disease' is very important to the public, and readers of this article will want and expect to read the details here. Personal life

The statement that Lance Bass is a friend is completely irrelevant. She's not in a romantic relationship with him; he's not a relative, nor does he appear to have made any noteworthy contribution to her life. The sentence should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.200.177.10 (talk) 17:08, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

I disagree. She seems to think it's important, considering how often she talks about him. Aroundthewayboy (talk) 18:48, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

American Psycho

It says she has an uncredited role as a prostitute in American Psycho. I've seen this movie plenty of times and I don't remember seeing her in it. She was well known by the time this movie came out which leads to even more doubt. IMDb doesn't mention anything about Applegate being the film. BrainRotMenacer (talk) 21:03, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Religion?

It's mentioned in here that her marriage was "mixed religion". Seems pointless without giving the religions of those involved. CsikosLo (talk) 19:06, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

I believe Christina's of mixed religious heritage herself with her father being Jewish and her mother Christian, but you're probably right about her own marriage because if anything she's agnostic just like her spouse who may or may not be Jewish or a non-practicing Jew.--71.177.199.194 (talk) 23:42, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Kelly Bundy

Is it true that she was offered the role of Kelly Bundy because she had better connections than Tina Caspary? I read it in a newspaper. Atasa (talk) 20:44, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Find a reference before you add it. Kingturtle (talk) 21:03, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
No, it's not because of her connections. It is because they didn't like Hunter Carson as Bud and decided to change him. Then they went "If we're gonna change one of the kids, let's change both of them.". Tina was a "victim", because they thought that since she and Carson didn't match she won't match the new Bud (David Faustino), which wasn't actually true. They (the producers) said that Carson sucked at acting, while Caspary was good, but they felt there was no bond between them, so they fired Caspary as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.132.31.212 (talk) 00:15, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Filming

Is she filming a movie now? 78.130.136.199 (talk) 21:40, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Alvin and the Chipmunks role

Currently, the article for Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel says that she is playing Brittany. But the reference cited is IMDb, which currently says that she is playing Jeanette, both at the movie page and on Christina's page. Wikipedia has been wrong before. But since Wikipedia itself is not an adequate reference, we will need some more evidence that she is not playing Jeanette before these edits can stand. Elizium23 (talk) 01:40, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

A recent article says that she is Brittany, so I guess IMDb is wrong again. Elizium23 (talk) 01:44, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Apparently the article had the wrong information, because another one popped up with her as Jeanette. Elizium23 (talk) 10:13, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

TwitterGate?

I've removed the following text from the article, as it appears to be vandalism and definitely does not conform to Wikipedia guidelines. "On January 5, 2010, Applegate, frustrated with the inaccurate information on her Wikipedia bio, Tweeted on Twitter "According to Wiki I was in "American Psycho" playing a hooker. But credited as Christina Mckay. Really? Wtf? Wiki is such crap haha" which caused an outpouring of fan support and many edits to this bio. A short time later, Applegate Tweeted "I can't believe u changed the wiki. I'm laughing so hard I'm crying! Mostly proud of that oscar for The Sweetest Thing! Hahaha". At last check, Applegate was close to peeing her pants from all the laughter. Fans, bouncing back and forth from Twitter to Wikipedia, have since crashed both sites, once again proving the power of a single tweet." Gobbles414 (talk) 22:09, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Miserable Comforters?

Wasn't the title of the film she was EP on actually Miserable Comforters and sometimes shown on lists as "Comforters, Miserable" for alphabetization and indexing purposes? 75.216.89.49 (talk) 11:07, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

A simple Google search shows that the name is indeed Comforters, Miserable. Elizium23 (talk) 19:09, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
