There has been a couple of back and forth edits on whether this should be included on the page.
The original text, which was then reversed said
In February 2018 it was disclosed that Bishop was using the social media platform Snapchat to communicated with teenage girls.[1]
The claim by Gadfium that misleading. He responded to many people on social media; someone said it was inappropriate that some of those were teenage girls. No-one is suggesting any content was inappropriate[2] is irrelevant as the statement on the page did not imply or even mention whether or not the issue was perceived as inappropriate. Thus the statement regarding the use of Snapchat should be reinstated and not reversed.Cubastreetnz (talk) 05:34, 20 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
See my latest edit summary: "This is a very long way away from WP:NPOV due to being unbalanced." I have protected the article for the time being and suggest that agreement is found via the talk page, and we'll then implement the wording for which consensus was gained. Note that I'll be travelling from first thing tomorrow morning for the rest of the week and I may have little opportunity to provide input. But there'll be enough editors around to sort this out. It is fact that there was communication to these girls on SC. To attempt to suppress that fact is in and of itself bias under WP:NPOV. There has been no moral judgement passed on the current wording by User: Cubastreetnz, and my addition of a Controversies Heading is squarely in line with other pages on politicians. Every politician communicates with people of a wide range of ages. There's no story here, just a beat up by news media. If you can find a reliable source that there was some inappropriate behaviour, please bring it forward. Some anonymous parent saying "He messaged my teenage daughter" (presumably about political issues) doesn't qualify.-gadfium 18:46, 16 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure why an IP address is trying to cleanse this article from Bishop's work for Phillip Morris. The reference that goes with the sentence states: "Bishop, a Beehive staffer and former tobacco lobbyist". And on Bishop's LinkedInprofile, it states that he was their Corporate Affairs Manager from May 2011 to June 2013. Schwede66 20:39, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
