Definitely an advert. The same Chopper Heavy who wrote the original article (or someone using the same name) spammed a bunch of homebrew forums with exactly this same sales pitch.

I also notice they have inserted an advert into the main Australian beer article.

I think you both need to refresh your glasses and take a nerw look at the beer! We understand the beer was not tasting too great and we quickly took it off the market. This was the fault of Bintara Brwery in Rutherglen, who made a very bad beer. We have now worked on developing the beer to taste as good, if not better than the majority of Aussie lagers. I have since ammended the script on the wiki page and it is factual as of June 10th 2008. Somehow I doubt this is an ad. There are notable factual errors in it, and I've just thrown in an unincorporated edit to point out these errors (sorry, dont know my wiki well enough to want to hack at the bare flesh). I suspect more likely it's some overzealous teenaged fan of the brew trying to 'tag' everything he sees.

IMHO, the beer is very ordinary. Tastes more like a cider. But this isn't a beer review site.

Chopper heavy claims to be the strongest lager not the strongest beer. I don't know whether this is true or not so I said that the beer is "marketed as the strongest lager..." which should be neutral enough. I have removed the advert and notoriety tags as the page doesn't read like an add now and as part of the section on Aussie beer it is notable enough. I have also removed the stub tag as I don't think there is much we can add to this page.Reply

And you're right. it is a pretty crap beer. I got a six pack as part of a mixed beer carton and I'm wondering what to do with the other 5...

The beer is no longer produced. When it was, it was the "Stockade" brewery not the "Stockdate". Fail. Also Toohey's Platinum lager was 6.5% ABV that knocked that claim out of the water. --MichaelGG (talk) 07:08, 11 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
