Original research? edit

This article seems to be based on a single editor's reading and interpretation of Nostradamus, with no independent sources to support notability or the analysis. Schazjmd (talk) 18:42, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

The analyses and interpretations are done in the books, although I have put them together in my own words (to avoid plagiarism). S. Perquin (talk) 19:10, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@S. Perquin, I overlooked the co-author in the second ref, so have changed the tag on the article. It shouldn't rely on a single author's interpretation. But also, there are no sources to support why there should be an article on this one name. Schazjmd (talk) 20:39, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
In addition to the books, I also consulted the internet for better translations, only these have been many. What do you mean there are no sources to support why there should be an article on this one name? If you search for the name "Chiren" in combination with "Nostradamus" you will find numerous websites. Although not much information can be found about this Chiren. S. Some examples of websites that I used for the translations:
I hope this provides more clarity! S. Perquin (talk) 20:55, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Please see WP:GNG, it explains the notability standards for articles. Of all of the works from Nostradamus, why should this one name have a stand-alone article about it? If "not much information can be found about this Chiren", why write an article? Schazjmd (talk) 20:59, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Because I do personally find the predictions about this Chiren interesting and I think others, who are also interested in prophecies, would also find this interesting. This article on Wikipedia nicely lists all of Nostradamus' verses about this Chiren and shows at a glance what was predicted about him. It provides all the information available about him. S. @S. Perquin, that's a good reason to write an article for a magazine or in a blog. It's not a good reason for an encyclopedia article. Did you read WP:GNG? Schazjmd (talk) 21:21, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I have read it. Should the text in the article be added to the article about Nostradamus? Or what is your suggestion?   S. Perquin (talk) (discover the power of thankfulness!) – 21:28, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
In answer to your question as to why exactly this person should have an article on Wikipedia out of all the predictions of Nostradamus: in the books, it becomes clear that the coming of Chiren is the most important event yet to come. But then my question to you is: why, for example, should any soccer player have an article on Wikipedia? I have nothing to do with soccer, so if it were up to me, these articles about soccer players are irrelevant and may well be removed from the encyclopedia.   S. @S. Perquin, I'm sorry but I'm not seeing sufficient significant coverage to even mention it in the Nostradamus article. There simply isn't any reason that these quatrains, out of everything from Nostradamus, should be singled out. So you could try to find reliable sources that specifically discuss Chiren and add those to the article. If those don't exist, it's probable that another editor will eventually nominate this article for deletion. Schazjmd (talk) 21:51, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Tomorrow I will do a search! It would be unfortunate if the article were removed, as I spent a lot of time on it.   S. Perquin (talk) (discover the power of thankfulness!) – 22:02, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
