Talk:Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary

Only for China?? edit

Why this article with the name Party chief only talks about China? The English phrase party chief can refer to the chief of any party, not only for Communist Party of China. It's quite different from the Chinese phrase dangwei shuji (党委书记). A dictionary says that Party chief means the ultimate leader of a survey crew. A news report says Huber Elected as German Coalition Party Chief. If this article is exclusively about the CPC, then it should be renamed. --Neo-Jay 22:53, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

What if we moved it to say, "Party secretary"? Colipon+(T) 06:05, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Why not something like CPC Party secretary, which clearly refers to the Communist Party of China? I think many political parties, such as the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, also have secretaries. Party secretary and Party leader have already existed to provide general information. Party chief should be renamed to reflect its CPC focus, and then be changed to redirecting to Party leader. --Neo-Jay 12:09, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
The only concern then, is that all the links to party chief from CPC-related articles will be broken. Is there a way to fix this? --Colipon+(T) 23:43, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
I checked the incoming links. There are less than 20 pages linked here. Not so many. It can be fixed manually. And you can also put CPC party secretary in Party leader as a link. Then people can find the CPC article. --Neo-Jay 03:13, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Since you have not replied for so long time, I assume that you do not object to my proposal. I moved party chief to party chief of the Communist Party of China and redirected party chief to party leader. Please stop using party chief to refer to party chief of the Communist Party of China. I created CPC party chief as a redirecting page. Please use it as a shortcut. Thanks.--Neo-Jay 05:21, 2 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
