Chimera/Chimaera edit

I know the spelling "Chimera" is favoured by many, but is the statue actually officially called Chimera of Arezzo or Chimaera of Arezzo? violet/riga (t) 11:14, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Date? edit

There's no explicit mention of when [in what period] the statue was thought to have been made. Could anyone specify this?

Critisiscm of data in article edit

It seems like there are some debated data in the article, see it:Discussione:Chimera di Arezzo. /Johan Jönsson 18:24, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

The article by Ugo Bardi in the References covers the territory, namely the political usefulness of the Etruscan chimera to the Medici Grand Dukes, and the memory of Giorgio Vasari recalling the date of discovery as 1554, when the Arezzo archives actually make it November 1553— an easy error to make, eh, several years after the fact. Benvenuto Cellini's brief reference is also quoted by Bardi, if anyone feels that the material should be better worked into the body of the article. --Wetman 05:52, 23 June 2006 (UTC).Reply

Translation edit

"le fortificazioni" were translated as "the tranches", but from my understanding fortifications are defensive walls or mounds. Can someone explain further please? Bobbybuilder 02:29, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm italian. LE FORTIFICAZIONI can be translated as " DEFENSIVE WALLS OR MOUNDS",that's correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.38.6.96 (talk) 15:40, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
