Talk:Chilean torpedo gunboat Almirante Lynch

HL Hunley

edit

The H.L. Hunley was the first vessel to sink an enemy vessel with a spar torpedo in 1864. (See Sinking of USS Housatonic). Almirante Lynch's attack was the first sinking of a warship with a torpedo boat, also, the torpedo which sank the USS Housatonic was a different type, meaning the Blancos Encalada sinking was the first warship sunk by a more modern torpedo that actually was fired from a gun. The article should at least mention something about this, thanks.--$1LENCE D00600D (talk) 23:20, 6 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
