Untitled edit

Hello all, I've created a new draft of this article.

I work for the Council and have a direct conflict of interest, so I'm using this talk page to request my draft be reviewed. If you think it is neutral and well-referenced, please consider replacing the current article with the new version.

The draft is here: Draft:Chicago_Council_on_Global_Affairs

Thank you! Evan Evan Council (talk) 15:03, 2 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal edit

I propose that Draft:Chicago Council on Global Affairs be merged into Chicago Council on Global Affairs. As a COI editor, I created a new draft of the article to provide more useful information and references. I hope it meets the community's standards for neutrality. Per my COI, I'm leaving the discussion and decision to merge in others' capable hands. I'm happy to provide any help or clarifications that I can. Thank you for your consideration. Evan Council (talk) 16:25, 8 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Without wanting to be too much of an imposition, I'm hoping User:Nihiltres or User:Andy M. Wang might be willing to revisit this proposal based on their comments in Draft talk:Chicago Council on Global Affairs. However, I wouldn't want this to fall entirely on them just because they were nice enough to help initially. If there are others visiting this page who could lend a hand, that would be great! Thanks again to anyone willing to take a look at the proposed merger and review my COI edits. Evan Council (talk) 21:38, 15 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Evan Council: The general procedure will be to place {{Request edit}} directly on this talk page with a clear description that the contents of Draft:Chicago Council on Global Affairs be included into the live article page, and properly attributed. There appears to be over a hundred requests at the moment, and your edits may take a while to be incorporated. If my suggestion here yields no response for several weeks, I would be okay with looking into this, although there are other editors more experienced at looking into these requests. I sincerely hope this helps. — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 22:17, 15 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Andy M. Wang: That is very helpful and I sincerely appreciate it. Thank you for your consideration. I will wait for others to intervene for several weeks before I entertain the idea of pinging you again. All the best. Evan Council (talk) 20:43, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Andy M. Wang: Hi Andy, I wonder if you'd consider taking another look at my suggested updates. I'm really hoping they don't take much revision, though admittedly this is my first time drafting an article. At the very least, I'm hoping someone can update the logo on this page with our correct logo (updated in July, making the current version on Wikipedia erroneous). Any help is greatly appreciated! Evan Council (talk) 14:34, 18 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Evan Council: Thanks for the ping. Again, this isn't my area of expertise, but I'd be willing to take a look. I put this on my plate. Please allow me a bit of time (possibly several days), if you don't mind... thanks for your patience. — Andy W. (talk) 15:56, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Evan Council: I'm recusing myself from implementing your draft since I suggested your course of action in the first place; while I strictly could implement the draft, it doesn't feel right to both give you procedural advice and participate in the process. {{Nihiltres |talk |edits}} 14:42, 16 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Nihiltres: Thank you, you've been extremely helpful already. I completely understand your reasons for recusing yourself. I'm glad you're helping set the tone for of transparency and objectivity. Evan Council (talk) 20:43, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request Edit: Merge Draft:Chicago Council on Global Affairs into Chicago Council on Global Affairs edit

Hello all, per the merger proposal above, I'm hoping a neutral editor can review the contents of Draft:Chicago Council on Global Affairs and merge them into the live version of this article. I work at the Council and am declaring a conflict of interest. I'm unable to participate in the review or implementation of the draft I created, but I'm happy to help clarify anything in the draft page. Per Wikipedia's standards, whoever is willing to help with this edit request will need to be sure their work is properly attributed to my conflict of interest request.
