Talk:Chevrolet SS396

The premise of this whole article is a myth. The SS396 is an option on several models, not a separate model in and of itself. For example, see this car.

The foremost Chevelle site on the 'net, chevelles.com, has no mention of an SS396 model whatsoever, and several Google searches, such as this simple one, have failed to turn up a single substantiation that the SS396 is really its own model.

In addition, this article contains other factual inaccuracies, such as:

SS396, El Camino, Chevelle, Concours, 300 and 300 Deluxe, Malibu (There was no "Chevrolet 300" or "300 Deluxe" any time around 1968, nor was there a "Chevrolet Concours".)
In 1969 Chevrolet decided to make the SS396 an upgrade option for the Chevelle. (It has always been an upgrade option. This isn't new for '69.)

In the absence of factual backing that this is indeed a full fledged model, I am recommending that this article be deleted.
